Shopping app Ubamarket has won the Global Mobile 2019 Award for Digital Commerce Innovation at the Mobile World Congress Barcelona.
Will Broome (pictured), CEO and Founder of Ubamarket, was pleased to emerge victorious from a shortlist that included such “illustrious competition” as Schwarz Gruppe, owner of Lidl.
He said: “We take great pride in our ongoing innovation to re-imagine and enhance the in-store experience for both shoppers and retailers and we are delighted that the ground-breaking work of our team is being recognised in such a high-profile way.”
Ubamarket is a white-label shopping app that can be branded to suit any store group. In its first phase of development, customers enter a shopping list that will be rearranged into the order the items are displayed in the store. Shoppers can scan items as they shop and receive real-time personalised offers, along with automatic loyalty, plastic and allergy alerts. They can check out without having to re-scan items or queue. The app is currently available on iOS and Android.
